NBA Rundown: Saturday 03/07

By Ethan Tabor

What to expect

We will provide a basic rundown of the slate each day rather it’s in article, podcast or video form. The rundown will include games and spreads that day with correlated matchups, We will have a write up for specific players that we see advantages or disadvantages to having in your lineup, and we will then finish the rundown by giving you the top options at each position. The goal here is to not just give the best plays to win money but to teach you how to construct winning lineups on your own to make DFS a profitable game rather than a gamble. This article will be posted each day, at least an hour and a half before lineup lock. If the days slate starts at 7pm EST then you can expect the rundown posted no later than 5:30pm. Follow us on twitter to keep updated on the inevitable injury updates and how that will effect your lineups after this article is posted. https://twitter.com/Money_LineDFS

Today’s Slate

Juicy little 5 game slate. Just enough to make some money and I’m seeing a lot of things I like. Ton of injury news so please stay updated on our twitter, which is listed above. These injuries will change everything once the news breaks so this article could be pointless but here we go.

Top Plays

Tobias Harris- somehow I rostered Tobias on a 4 game slate just two days ago at only 24%. WTF were people thinking. He’s the leader in usage on this team when Embiid and Simmons are out and that’s the case again tonight. The other day they played the Kings(good matchup) and today they play the Curry-less Warriors(even better matchup). I don’t expect to get a criminal 24% ownership again tonight as I’m sure a lot of people were kicking themselves the other day but you can’t deny the matchup and what Tobias has been doing during this span of injuries for the Sixers. He’s your free square today.

Collin Sexton- The Cavs are beat up, Garland and Kevin Porter are ruled out, Drummond and Tristan Thompson are questionable as I’m writing this. The good news for Sexton is that the two guards are already out, so the big men news won’t affect this play at all. Sexton has scored 50 plus FP in his last two games, and shockingly providing more than just points in his stat sheet. He set a career high with 41 points last time out but also had 6 assists in that same game. I’m not saying he’s suddenly a more well rounded player, but he is getting more opportunity for peripheral stats at the same time as seeing his already team leading usage sky rocket even further with all of these injuries. He’s priced at $6,900 and this matchup certainly isn’t good. I don’t see him scoring 50 on this Nuggets team but I also don’t see him scoring less than 35 unless they get ran out of the building. Vegas has this game at -9.5 for the Nuggets which tells me it should stay close enough. I think his minutes could be secured either way as they are so short handed in the guard position that they might not have anyone else to put on the floor. Anyone who relies on scoring is not usually on my list here because it makes them extremely risky for fantasy, but overall I don’t see any reason to think Sextons big games are a fluke with most of his team still sitting out from injury.

Trae Young or Kevin Huerter- if Trae is ruled out Huerter becomes the obvious play of the entire slate. If Trae Young plays I’m going back to the well here. He was in my article just a few days ago against this same Grizzlies team and he ended with 19 points 2 assists and 1 rebound in a pathetic effort by the Hawks as they lost by nearly 40. I think that, mixed with his illness, and the fact they are on the road, could leave some ownership off of someone that’s in a relativity great spot. I always preach guards against Memphis and I’m sticking with it although they proved me wrong in 2 straight games. Third time has to be the charm right? Maybe Trae will go unowned and break this slate for us. He’s risky tonight but I love him.
