We are The Cleveland Browns

Over the years we have seen rise to the term “super-fan”. This label has been plastered to fans that go out of their way to make their fandom visible to the world. They accomplish this by wearing ridiculous wardrobes, dawning piles of team merchandise and screaming their loyalty from the top of a mountain. Cleveland is no exception to this type of fan.

I have to say, I take slight issue with the parameters of the super-fan being what I listed above. The wardrobes face paint and masks do not make you more of a fan than me. In some cases, it makes you less of one. Fake. It’s like the person who has to constantly proclaim how much of a bad-ass they are. Most of the time… they are not.

I can comfortably say that I have encountered hundreds, if not thousands of Browns fans. Fans of all different shapes and sizes and from all different walks of life. You know what? The vast majority of those fans are super fans.

We may not wear a pumpkin on our heads, dog masks on our faces or try to fit 782 dog bone necklaces around our necks… but we bleed orange and brown. We tingle with anticipation the night before a Browns game. We wake up on those game days with the wide-eyed giddiness of a kid on Christmas morning. When the Browns smile in victory, we smile with them. When they are pained in defeat, we hurt the same. Sundays in the fall cannot be scheduled with any other event… the game is on.

The Browns are everything to us and given what we have stuck with through the years; we are all entitled to the label super-fan. Cleveland is and always will be a football town. A football town full of super-fans.

We are the Cleveland Browns.

Go Browns!
