NBA RUNDOWN: SUNDAY 02/23
By Ethan Tabor
What to expect
We will provide a basic rundown of the slate each day rather it’s in article, podcast or video form. The rundown will include games and spreads that day with correlated matchups, We will have a write up for specific players that we see advantages or disadvantages to having in your lineup, and we will then finish the rundown by giving you the top options at each position. The goal here is to not just give the best plays to win money but to teach you how to construct winning lineups on your own to make DFS a profitable game rather than a gamble. This article will be posted each day, at least an hour and a half before lineup lock. If the days slate starts at 7pm EST then you can expect the rundown posted no later than 5:30pm. Follow us on twitter to keep updated on the inevitable injury updates and how that will effect your lineups after this article is posted. https://twitter.com/Money_LineDFS
Today’s Slate
No Deangelo Russel makes Minnesota a great play. Enough value here with no Towns also. Load up on the Timberwolves even in a bad matchup.
Top Plays
Naz Reid- Naz has a seriously impressive fantasy point per minute. Without Towns the other night he dropped 40 points on fanduel in 32 minutes and that’s actually lower than his usual FPPM average. With no Russel added into this he seems like a must play for his price. The ownership on all Minnesota players will come in lower than it should because of matchup playing at Denver who is no doubt an elite defensive team. The important thing to realize with fantasy sports is that value isn’t always within a matchup, in fact it hardly is. Value comes with opportunity and Reid, along with many other Timberwolves will have plenty of opportunity tonight. Reid does have a knack for getting in foul trouble so if there’s any negative to playing him it’s exactly that. I’m not someone to fade opportunity because of foul trouble though.
Andrew Wiggins- New Orleans gives up one of the fastest pace of plays in the league. They have been better defensively since Zion made his debut but they still give up a lot of what you want to see in a fantasy perspective. Fast pace, turnovers, and this game has the highest implied total of the slate while the warriors are only 7 point underdogs. Vegas thinks this stays close and thinks it’s a slug fest due to the pace of play both teams play at. Fire up Wiggins and feel free to have other exposure from this game as well.
Malik Beasley- There’s not much to say that I haven’t said. Minnesota is an open book tonight for usage and Beasley has been chucking the ball on his new team. Take away the shit attempts from Russel and Towns and now you’ve got Beasley. The opportunity is there for him and he’s cheap so again grab as much exposure as you can to this Timberwolves team.
