NFL Thanksgiving Special šŸ¦ƒ

Notes

Steelers and Ravens game has been postponed to this Sunday. This makes this a 2 game slate and itā€™s very difficult. I will be playing because Iā€™m a degenerate, but I donā€™t necessarily suggest playing a slate like this. Iā€™ll still tell you guys what I like!

Donā€™t be afraid to game stack on this slate. A lot of people try to get exposure everywhere on these slates but you could very easily have one game finish 28-24 and the other be 10-7. All these teams are on a short week.

Top Plays

JD McKissic- This is the pass catching back for Washington but in 3 games since Alex Smith took over at QB, McKissic has now caught 19 passes. Thatā€™s tied with Terry McLaurin for the team lead over that time. On Draftkings I will have 100% ownership on JD where I expect The Football Team to be playing from behind and using plenty of JD in the backfield. I also donā€™t expect ownership to be here after a big game from their other running back, Antonio Gibson.

Will Fueler- This is the obvious play considering that Kenny Stills and Randall Cobb have been ruled out. Honestly, I highly suggest having exposure to TWO different receivers for Houston. Pair Fueller with either Cooks, or get risky with Coutee and expect a big day from the Texans offense. This stack will be popular but get different elsewhere in your builds.

QB- This is often the hardest position to get right but I take a different approach here. Most people tend to look at this position first because itā€™s at the top of the roster, I do the opposite. I find the receivers Iā€™m in love with and I see what I can fit at this position. I basically take the same approach as season long leagues where I refuse to draft a QB early. In my season long league Iā€™ve went back to back years drafting Patrick Mahomes, then Lamar Jackson, both with my very last pick of the draft. I honestly carry this approach with correlation to my receivers in mind when I build lineups in daily fantasy.

Deshaun Watson- This is mega chalk, I fully expect him to be over 60% owned. Iā€™m just jot sure you can fade the quarterback who not only has the safest floor on this slate, but the highest ceiling BY FAR.

Alex Smith- The only other option Iā€™d consider just because I expect them to be behind in this game. We saw Washingtonā€™s willingness to air it out 2 weeks ago when they were behind and Smith logged 55 pass attempts

RB

JD McKissic- See above

Ezekiel Elliott- Iā€™ve mentioned a few times that I expect Dallas to stay on a roll here and play in front. They will lean on Zeke heavy in this one if they can do just that and I think my running backs are locked in with these two.

WR- Like season long leagues, wide receiver is just deeper with opportunity than any other position so I typically donā€™t spend up like crazy here. At the same time, some matchups just canā€™t be ignored.

Houston pass catchers- This is the best place to start. Regardless of your build youā€™re going to want at least one of these Houston pass catchers. Iā€™m being aggressive here and making sure I have AT LEAST 2 receivers in every lineup. In my mind, most people taking the same approach as me would start with Fuller and then likely save salary with Coutee or maybe even Akins at tight end. Iā€™m hoping the Cooks, Fuller combo goes slightly overlooked from people thinking only one can provide a DFS winning upside at a time. Iā€™ll have both.

Marvin Jones- As much as I want to attack the Lions defense, itā€™s equally as smart to attack this Houston group. Jones will once again be the only legitimate option for Stafford. You can throw a dart at a guy like Marvin Hall but Jones should see plenty of attention. Even in a game where the Lions were shut out last week, Jones gave us 4 catches for 51 yards. Obviously nothing to blow you away but he did have a 50+ yard touchdown called back on an illegal formation. This Houston/ Detroit game has the highest upside to blow up and Iā€™ll be VERY exposed to it.

Michael Gallup/ Cedee Lamb- If you want the safest Dallas receiver then sure you should play Amari Cooper. My logic with playing these two over Cooper is that Washington brings a lot of pressure. Last time they met (a 25-3 ass beating of the Dallas Cowboys) the Football team sacked Dalton 6 times. I like the short routes because of that. Lamb and Gallup are those guys in the slot and under routes and Iā€™d lean my exposure here rather than Cooper. This is one of those good spots to be different with a low owned Lamb or Gallup.

TE- Such an important position each week since you only get one. You have to hit here, so I typically do spend up for my Kittle, Ertz, Kelce type tight ends on most of these slates.

Logan Thomas- The difference maker. He screwed me last week so Iā€™m really taking the ā€œyou owe me approachā€.

Tyler Hockenson- The Chalk but the safest play. Wouldnā€™t be surprised if no tight end scores 10+ fantasy points this week. Definitely a spot to ā€œget differentā€ and hope for a touchdown.

Team Defense- I hate this position, itā€™s honestly a crap shoot for whoā€™s going to return a punt for a touchdown or create a pick 6. Iā€™ll give you my favorites without much to say here but Iā€™m a firm believer in choosing my defense last and hoping I have enough money to get a good one rather than a shot in the dark... at the same time Iā€™ll gladly take a shot in the dark before I sacrifice a good player.
