Thunder Put On A Show

In a highly anticipated matchup between the NBA’s top teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 134-114. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with an impressive 40-point performance, marking his fifth 40-point game of the season.

Don’t let the 20 point deficit fool you, they wiped the floor with us early. The game took a decisive turn with the Thunder executing an insane run of 30-2 in the first and second quarters. Yes, 30-2! At one point in the third quarter, we were down 42 points! Thankfully our second and third units outplayed theirs and at least saved face with the final score. Despite the Cavaliers’ efforts, they struggled offensively, shooting 43.5% from the field and committing 15 turnovers. Darius Garland was the leading scorer for Cleveland, contributing 20 points and 9 assists, while Jarrett Allen added 13 points.

This loss marks only the second defeat for the Cavs in their last 15 games, bringing their season record to 34-6. Prior to this game, Cleveland secured notable victories, including a 127-117 win against the Indiana Pacers on January 14 and a 129-122 triumph over the same Thunder team on January 8.

Looking ahead, the Cavaliers aim to rebound as they face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, followed by a home game against the Phoenix Suns on January 20. This team has shocked the world to this point and we are finally beginning to gain respect from the national media. Lets just hope that a loss like this, on national television, doesn’t get in the way of this unbelievable season.
