The Madness

Let’s start by talking about how underrated the month of March is. The clocks go forward and give us an extra hour of day light, even though it took my children a week to realize that, it’s still a sign for summer and all the good things that come with it. Pi Day is in March(3.14), St. Patrick’s Day is arguably the best drinking holiday of the year(3.17), and then the NCAA gives us the craziest, most unpredictable basketball tournament on the face of the earth. Not bad March, NOT. BAD.

This 2023 version of March Madness has been nothing short of its title. In the very first round we saw both a #1 seed, Purdue, get bounced by a school called “Fairleigh Dickenson”, and a #2 seed, Arizona, upset by an Ivy League Princeton team. Out of the 32 opening round games there were already 10 upsets to start this years tournament.

Check out our Sponsor, Charles Chevrolet, in Garrettsville, Ohio. “Not bigger, just better!”!

Fast forward now to the Elite 8, which kicks off tonight at 6pm, and for the first time in tournament history none of the four #1 seeds will be in attendance. The NCAA tournament started in 1939. We are talking about 84 years of at least one #1 seed advancing to the elite 8, until now. A true testament to the madness that is March.

This tournament has kicked my ass with sports bets so far, but I’ll be damned if we give up now. Tonight, a team that has taken my glory will be on stage and we are seeking vengeance. That team is Florida Atlantic, who is taking on Markquis Nowell, and the Kansas State Wildcats. Nowell set the all time NCAA Tournament record in their Sweet 16 matchup against Michigan State, with 19 assists! IQ Sports Advisors will be giving you the winner of all these games, but vengeance will be served in this one particularly so make sure you stay tuned to all of the Madness! Let’s see what happens next.
