NBA Rundown: Tuesday 03/03
By Ethan Tabor
What to expect
We will provide a basic rundown of the slate each day rather it’s in article, podcast or video form. The rundown will include games and spreads that day with correlated matchups, We will have a write up for specific players that we see advantages or disadvantages to having in your lineup, and we will then finish the rundown by giving you the top options at each position. The goal here is to not just give the best plays to win money but to teach you how to construct winning lineups on your own to make DFS a profitable game rather than a gamble. This article will be posted each day, at least an hour and a half before lineup lock. If the days slate starts at 7pm EST then you can expect the rundown posted no later than 5:30pm. Follow us on twitter to keep updated on the inevitable injury updates and how that will effect your lineups after this article is posted. https://twitter.com/Money_LineDFS
Recap
Yesterday was terrible. The Cavs new coaching staff clearly hates Ante Zizic, Trae young had an incredible 7 turnovers which ended up more than doubling his assist and rebound total combined, and Demar DeRozan was wiped off the face of the earth and is nowhere to be found. The only accuracy from yesterday was the value we had from the cavaliers and i hope you all had some exposure to Nance, Sexton, and Kevin Porter. Every other day seems to be my current trend so hopefully today is a lot better and my 3 plays from yesterday can kiss my ass because it’s a new day. Let’s go.
Today’s Slate
8 game with some TNT action tonight. The superstars all sucked last night. Luka, Giannas, Trae, DeRozan and Westbrook all played terrible. I expect this slate to be the opposite. Let’s dive in.
Top Plays
Zion Williamson- Zion comes in at $7,700 on DK and that price is in my sweet spot for him. I’m honestly not very high on the young star just yet. I feel like his price has been too much for him as we have seen him over $8k lately. Tonight he will see defense from Hernangomez who is trash. Zion averages 1.28 FP/M on the season and I expect a full work load tonight at 30-33 minutes. That’s more than enough to hit value and specially in a great matchup against Hernangomez and the Timberwolves.
Demar DeRozan- I’m going to continue to pound this even though he let me down last night in a major way. He still sees a massive usage rate without Aldridge who’s expected to miss tonight’s game as well. Charlotte is one of the worst teams in the league and San Antonio being on a back to back could keep this game closer than it should be. I hope and truly believe DeRozan will give us a redemption performance for last nights debacle and blow away this price tag. Fire him up and hope that others unlike us will forget about him because of his two straight let downs
Alec Burks- Burks can be such a stud when he gets the right opportunity. We saw him do exactly that in numerous occasions with the Warriors and even last year at times with the Cavs. Josh Richardson left Sunday’s game with a concussion and the starter won’t be active today against the Lakers. This isn’t a good matchup for the guard spots but we love the opportunity Alec Burks will get tonight. Philly is already without Embiid and Ben Simmons, let alone the Richardson news. With 3 starters out of the rotation this is where Burks steps in, not only do I expect him to start but even if he doesn’t I can’t see them letting him play less than 30 minutes if this game is competitive. Burks is one of my favorite value plays tonight.
