Chasing History
The Cleveland Cavaliers have stunned us all with an extraordinary 13-0 start to the 2024-25 season, making them only the sixth team in NBA history to reach such a milestone. Led by Donovan Mitchell, who has been consistently delivering clutch performances, the Cavs have shown resilience and depth.
It’s actually hard to say “Led by Donovan Mitchell” because of the rare team component that the Cavaliers display night in and night out. Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland have been lights out, and most importantly, consistent! The addition of Kenny Atkinson and his offensive prowess has really made the difference. This team has been an absolute treat to watch through 13 games and it’s hard to see that ending anytime soon!
Looking ahead, the Cavaliers face challenging games that will test their stamina, with matchups against other Eastern Conference heavyweights. Chicago just gave the Cavaliers a test last week and now come to Cleveland for the rematch on Friday. While they did play us well, the Bulls are slightly underwhelming at 5-7. Sunday, we welcome the Hornets to Cleveland for a chance to tie the 2nd longest winning streak to start a season at 15-0. The true test, and a chance to be the 2nd team ever to see 16-0, will come Tuesday night at The Garden, where the Cavs streak depends on an upset to the defending champion, Boston Celtics.
The Warriors 24 game streak to start the 2016 campaign seems daunting, but who else is more fit to shit on a Warriors parade than our Cleveland Cavaliers. Let’s keep it rolling!
