NBA Rundown 01/04/21
Now that football is over we will have an article posted an hour before tip off for each NBA slate that consists of at least 6 games. Check back and follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/Money_LineDFS
Notes- NBA is back! This is great news for DFS and I can’t wait to get back into it. Make sure you check out Thrive Fantasy and use the code “Mark One” for a $20-$50 match on your deposit. Just another great way to get your NBA gambling fix!
PLEASE keep in mind that NBA DFS is a different animal. If you are not free to make changes to your lineups 30 minutes before tip off then I wouldn’t even play. The liability in NBA is the players resting and the injuries, on top of the covid situation we have. There’s so many moving pieces and with that there’s crazy value that will open up. If you’re not paying attention you will miss out. For example, yesterday 01/03/2021 Luka Doncic was ruled out 20 minutes before his game tipped off. Jaylen Brunson started in his place at a $3,300 salary on Draftkings. He was 66% owned and dropped 50 fantasy’s points with a 31 point, 7 assist, 5 rebound performance. Imagine not having him in your lineup. I use the NBA Fantasy Labs Twitter account to keep me up to speed with players being ruled out.
Top Plays
Luka Doncic- He rested yesterday and gets a very favorable matchup with the Rockets tonight. This honestly could be the last time we see him this discounted after a slow start. $10,300 is too cheap for someone with triple double potential every night. 28,10,13 and 41,10,6 are Lukas last 2 stat lines against Harden and the Rockets. Both of those put him well above his value at this price tonight.
James Harden- Can you tell I like the Mavericks/ Houston game? Harden welcomed John Wall to the team and in doing so he had a not so cool 55 fantasy’s points. Any other player in the league you’d be happy, but you expect more from Harden and it looked like Wall stole some of his Thunder. I expect Doncic to be popular but I think people will hesitate to pay over $11k for Harden with uncertainty around the volume. I shared Lukas number against Houston above and Hardens are even better. Dallas has struggled to stop scoring guards the last 2 seasons and James Harden is THE scoring guard above all. I think he’s low owned and a great play tonight.
Saddiq Bey- Who? The rookie for the Pistons. This matchup sucks with the Bucks but I’m here for the opportunity at this price. Blake Griffin and Josh Jackson have already been ruled out, so the minutes are going to be there for this kid and he hasn’t really disappointed yet. He’s averaging .8 fantasy points per minute and even if they can’t keep this game close I don’t see a scenario where Bey sees less than 30 minutes of playing time. At $3,900 you only need 20 points to hit his value and the numbers suggest he will hit that with ease.
Steph Curry- The man just dropped a career high 62 points and his salary still sits at $9,300. He has a better matchup today against the Kings than the backcourt of the Blazers when he did that. It’s obviously not smart to predict career high type of games but shooters tend to be streaky and I think Steph keeps it going tonight.
**Obviously it’s hard to get 3 of these guys in the same lineup. I typically give you more value plays but I love each of them. Play Saddiq Bey and Steph Curry, then take your shot between Harden and Doncic to start your build.
